Discharge Tips:

  • Have your car waiting in the front of Prentice Women's Hospital when mother and baby are ready to leave. You can leave your car by the valet for 20 minutes.

  • We recommend you bring your car seat to the room and secure the baby in the seat before leaving the room. You should be familiar with how to use the car seat before you leave the hospital.

  • We encourage expectanct parents to register for Northwestern Memorial's car seat instruction and inspection class before delivery to ensure you're using your car seat safely and properly. Call (877) 926-4664 to register.
